Why is my motor vehicle tax bill from the wrong county?
The information that the counties receive comes from the North Carolina DMV. An incorrect county code entered at the tag office when obtaining or renewing a vehicle plate will result in the data being sent to the wrong county. Take the tax bill to the correct county and they will correct the error.
I just bought my vehicle a few months ago. Why am I already receiving a tax bill?
Billing is approximately 4 months after registration.
